This desk is made of solid cherry from the same log for consistency throughout. Below is the large cherry log we used for this desk. About 1/3 of this log was needed for all the required parts. The largest planks yielded 24-25” wide planks of solid cherry
Case parts rough milled. From this point we allow all of the wood to acclimate to the shop conditions for a minimum of 2 weeks which helps to stabilize the material before use on the desk
This is our wood rack and an example of various projects worth of wood acclimating in our shop. We select and label each piece for the specific project before we rough mill and stack.
